*The many adventures of Cop Caller & Loop Trail Lady*

Miss Katie was back for a three day weekend and we were able to spend some time with her....and we were able to spend our time with her in the woods enjoying fall and enjoying each other. I love days like those! I wish we could have more of them...but then if we did...they wouldn't be as special.

Little Miss Tait loves her Aunt Katie and all the fun we had with her this weekend...

But now Miss Katie is back to her Chicago enjoying city life in the fall...but I do believe we will always remember this fall day in the woods...it was most definitely one to remember...

*Everyone must take time to sit and watch the leaves turn*

This is the only moment I have today to sit here and post. Today is going to be another busy one for us...we were out late last night trying to get at least one field done for the year...and we did. One down...several more to go. A little rundown of my/our afternoon/evening yesterday...

1:30- 3ish - Took a walk around town to enjoy the beautiful fall weather we were FINALLY having. Stopped at the library to say hello to our friendly librarian. While walking home, I had to stop Taitlin and teach her the importance of looking both ways before crossing the street. (sigh)

3ish-3:13 - Went out to the field to deliver snacks and pick a sample of beans up from Joel. He needed the moisture content of the beans tested. If they were to wet...they would go to town...if they were just right...they would go in his bin to be stored.

3:13 - 4:30 - Started hauling beans to the bin for Joel. I had to have a lesson on how to do this again because I wanted to make sure I didn't mess anything up. Joel was happy to show me and he was off again to combine more beans. Taitlin stayed with Joel in the combine and Tristin went with me in the tractor. Joel had one wagon for me to dump and another wagon full but wanted it to go to town. He said he would wait for his other help to arrive later and the help would take that wagon to town. (Joel has a process...I don't question it.)

4:30 - 4:50 - Took the empty wagon back to the field...noticed the time and took Tristin home to put supper in the oven. Chicken with herbs and a butternut squash.....was put into the oven to cook away until we returned for supper.

4:50-5:00 - Noticed that wagons weren't full enough to dump yet...but the full wagon waiting to go to town was calling my name to take to town...hmmm...should I take it for him?

5:00- 6:00 - Tristin and I head to town with the load. You would think some of these guys around here have never seen a girl drive a tractor to town. Tristin and I make sure to wave at every little boy and girl playing outside...it's great to making other kiddos smile! Stopped on the way back to the farm at home to check on the chicken...house smelled wonderful! I was getting hungry!

6:05 - 6:25 - Returned back to the farm to find another wagon full. Tristin and I took it to the bin, dumped, and headed back to the field.

6:25-6:50 - Grabbed Taitlin from the combine and the kiddos and I drove back home to eat supper. Ate very quickly! Packed a supper for Joel, grabbed my choir book...headed back to the field. Delivered supper and children to Joel...headed to choir practice...

7:04 - 8:30 - Choir practice. I was exhausted at practice. I also remembered halfway through practice, I never looked in a mirror to see if my face was clean...hmmm. Ran to the bathroom to look...sigh...all clean!

8:45 - 10:45ish - Back out to the field to pick up my kiddos and head home...(insert huge sigh)...noticed Joel had almost three full wagons and was almost done with the field....but he would probably need to stop combining to dump wagons...hmmm...so being the nice wife that I am...grabbed the kiddos from him...put both of them in the tractor...and started hauling wagons to the bin. I need to say right here...

THANK YOU to G'ma M. Thank you for turning on the garage light for me! That helped me out soooo much so I wasn't tripping over machinery! Thank you. Thank you. Thank you!

10:45ish - 11:00 - Kiddos still going strong...where do they get their energy?.... Joel finally finished with one of his bean fields...and only one wagon was left to dump! Kiddos and I head home while Joel dumps that last load. Showers for everyone and bed followed right after. Both kiddos are talking about what tomorrow would hold for the them and the farm!

11:45ish- Joel arrived home for the night, a shower for him and bedtime for both of us.

This is what Tristin would do while we were unloading...just patiently watch.

*The first fall of snow is not only an event, it is a magical event*

This is the day before...the day we were outside enjoying some beautiful fall weather...the day we walked up to the library...the day we took a walk around town...the day we rode bikes in the driveway...

IMG_8890copy

And this is the following day...when we did nothing but watch it snow.

IMG_8891copy

Notice the pool still in the backyard? We don't even have all out summer toys put away for the year...I was reminded of this poem I have written down...

Snow makes whiteness where it falls,
The bushes look like popcorn balls.
The places where I always play,
Look like somewhere else today.

The snow was so beautiful! The day reminded me of a cold, cloudy winter day....like I should have winter decorations out when I looked around the house...not my pumpkins and leaves... it was a weird sort of day.

All the snow is gone for now.... and I haven't heard of anymore on it's way in any forecasts... I need my fall weather!

On a much different note...

Tristin was extremely sick a week ago today...I was even thinking about taking him to the emergency room he was THAT sick. I knew if he couldn't keep anything down by dinner I was going to need to make a decision on what to do. He started throwing up around 6am and continued to several times in just the few hours after his first go round.

I sat with him in the bathroom...helping...comforting...praying...for my guy. When he would finish in the bathroom he would go right back to the couch and go to sleep...and then would wake up suddenly and need to be back in the bathroom. I went back and forth with him all morning.

Finally around 8 in the evening...he said some crackers sounded good. I made some broth and took him three crackers and that was all he had the entire day AND he finally was able to keep it down...praise the Lord!...he was so weak and tired from his day he fell asleep shortly after he ate.

You ask..."where was Tait during this day?"

Well....Miss Taitlin had a pretty great day for a 3 year old. She was on her own...she stayed in the office or in her room watching movies on her portable dvd player...playing babies....reading books....coloring several pages in her coloring book. She stayed out of our way...she was worried about Tristin but I know she didn't want anything to do with icky Tristin!

T and I ended up sleeping on the couch together that night...he did get up several times in the night crying saying his tummy hurt. I would try to comfort him and I would pray with him that Jesus would help him feel better. He took several tiny sips of water throughout the night and was able to keep the water down. Again, PRAISE the Lord!

I am so glad we are past that day! Tristin still hasn't been able to eat a complete meal. He eats only a few bites and says he's done. Whatever bug he had...really messed with his tummy. My poor little guy. The picture of him above was taken the day after his bad day...I wouldn't even believe he was so sick the day before if I hadn't been there with him!

(insert huge sigh)

Enough about sickness....

...I'm off to begin another day....

*Bittersweet October*

The time had come for mums and pumpkins...so the kiddos, Jamee, and I went and picked a few out and made our way to a local park to enjoyed the weather and the season.

This really is my favorite time of year...I love the colors...I love how God designed everything and how everything knows to start changing. Isn't that wonderful?

A very nice lady put each of the kiddos baby pumpkins in sperate sacks just for them...

I only purchased two mums...I'm pretty sure it's just about time for my annual mum delivery from a certain father-in-law of mine...(wink)
